PcMM - the Personal CMM

Model PcMM DCC Coordinate Measuring Machine

History

Although this used CMM was previously owned, it has been completely over-hauled at the Helmel factory. Our rebuild program installed new non-contact linear scales, new DCC electronics, motion controller and joystick plus the latest computer system with Geomet software. This CMM has been completely inspected and calibrated at the Factory.

This PcMM is built on a substantial granite base for dimensional and thermal stability. All ways, bearings, scales and motors have been thoroughly tested to the same standard our new CMMs receive. The PcMM employs non-contact steel scales and steel members for uniform thermal behavior. Its drive system is based on non-contact linear motors for efficient and wear-free operation. The design emphasizes powerful bearing ratios together with Helmel's tradition of precision mechanical bearing movement on hardened and ground ways. Our straight and square construction insures intrinsic mechanical accuracy without reliance on volumetric error correcting software tricks. This makes calibrations simple and saves you money in the future.

Just add a Renishaw Touch Probe and it is ready for inspection.

Volumetric Accuracy per ANSI B89.1.12-1998

Performance per ANSI B89.4.1a-1998: is based on laser measurements for linear accuracy, and on dynamic measurements with touch probe and 400mm ball bar for volumetric performance. Specifications represent intrinsic mechanical accuracy without volumetric error compensating software. Tests at 68°F and 50% humidity.

Mechanical Accuracy: is intrinsic without volumetrically compensating through software.

Power Requirements : 120 VAC, 60Hz, 20A, Grounded AC. Surge suppression is recommended.
